Dr. Eitan Homa

Dr. Eitan HomaCo-founder of Dermatology Associates of the Bay Area, Dr. Eitan Homa is widely known for his clinical expertise. Being in Medicine for 20 years and having completed residencies in both dermatology and internal medicine has helped hone Dr. Homa’s skill as an experienced and knowledgeable physician. Dr. Homa never loses sight of individual patient concerns and is passionate about providing excellent clinical care.

Originally from Montreal, Canada, Dr. Homa received his medical degree from the University of Calgary. After receiving his degree, he completed an internship at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, and then an internal medicine residency at the University of Toronto. He then returned to his native Montreal to train and serve as Chief Resident at McGill University’s Department of Dermatology.

With his depth of knowledge and experience as a dermatologist, Dr. Homa is frequently asked to lecture to fellow physicians on a variety of dermatology topics. He has organized and spoken at several major dermatological society meetings in Canada and the United States, and regularly lectures to family physicians and internists throughout the Bay Area. He is also an independent consultant to a number of major pharmaceutical companies, assisting with drug development, effective clinical utilization, and physician education.

In 2011 he interviewed for The Discovery Channel health series focusing on Skin Cancer epidemiology and the various surgical and medical treatment modalities.

Dr. Jennifer Krasnoff

Dr. Jennifer KrasnoffDr. Krasnoff has more than 10 years experience as a board-certified dermatologist. With a broad background in general dermatology, she enjoys focusing on women’s medical and cosmetic dermatology. She combines state-of-the art laser surgery techniques, chemical peel procedures, injectable fillers, and other cosmetic techniques to make her patients look their best. Dr. Krasnoff offers patient-focused care with compassion, understanding, and openness to her patients' concerns. As an exceptional dermatologist, Dr. Krasnoff takes pride in helping her patients to achieve optimal skin health and appearance. Enjoying connecting with her patients, she always takes a few extra moments to learn about her patients' lives.

She has had the honor of lecturing at professional meetings and has published several articles in leading medical journals. She actively participates in local dermatology conferences, and serves as a specialty consultant for pharmaceutical marketing. Dr. Krasnoff has participated in multiple free skin cancer screening programs at local hospitals and corporations while in private practice and throughout her training.

Originally from Los Angeles, Dr. Krasnoff traveled east for college and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in French Literature from Cornell University. She then attended McGill University Faculty of Medicine where she earned her medical degree. She followed this with a residency in internal medicine and dermatology at Yale University. Due to her intercultural and multilingual interests, in 1997 she was awarded an international scholarship from the American Academy of Dermatology to go to Paris. Following her residency, Dr. Krasnoff worked as a consultant dermatologist in the Adirondack region of New York State, where she was the only dermatologist within a 50-mile radius. A native Californian, she returned to the Bay Area to co-found Dermatology Associates of the Bay Area with her husband, Dr. Eitan Homa.

Dr. William Ting

Dr. William TingDr. William Ting is a board-certified dermatologist who offers a multi-prong approach to skin care and ailments, incorporating high quality therapeutic and preventive medicine. He acts as an advocate for his patients and provides sincere dermatologic care.

Dr. Ting was born in Taiwan and grew up in the East Bay area of San Francisco. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California, Berkeley as a Chancellor's Scholar. He then completed a combined M.D. and M.B.A. program from Northwestern University Medical School and Kellogg School of Management, where he was a Rothschild Scholar in health services management.

During his dermatology residency training at the University of Iowa, Dr. William Ting was endowed with the first ever Resident Research Award. He was also the recipient and the Principal Investigator of the 2002-2003 Photobiology Award from the Skin Cancer Foundation, which funded the research project Epidemiological Study of Tanning Bed Exposure and Associated Risk of Cutaneous Neoplasm. Dr. Ting was also recognized by the Richard B. Stoughton Fellowship from the British Association of Dermatologists for the best abstract submission from U.S. dermatology resident physicians in 2002.

Dr. Ting has authored many articles and research abstracts that have appeared in major peer-reviewed dermatology journals. He has also made numerous spoken and poster presentations at local, national, and international academic conferences. Dr. Ting was the featured speaker at Doctors Medical Center in San Pablo for the Grand Rounds presentation in the spring of 2006. From 2004 to 2005, Dr. Ting also served as a clinician educator at Stanford University School of Medicine's Department of Dermatology.

Dr. Ting has also provided pro bono care as a volunteer attending staff dermatologist at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and has provided free skin cancer screening at Doctors Medical Center every May for the past few years. He served as a specialty consultant and an advisory board member for several biotech and pharmaceutical companies, and is often quoted in the local media, with a recent interview published by Silicon Valley Community Newspaper. Dr. Ting currently serves in the Bay Area on the American Cancer Society Volunteer Leadership Council.

Dr. Carla Fisher

Dr. Carla FisherDr. Carla Fisher, practicing medicine for over twenty years and dermatology for more than sixteen, combines general dermatology skills with surgical treatment of skin cancers, and cosmetic dermatology, to provide a comprehensive approach to skin care. Her view of each patient as an individual, leads her to educate patients on skin diseases, various treatments, and to consider patients’ desires when establishing a treatment plan. She has found that better communication and patient understanding leads to better cure rates, disease prevention, and satisfaction with procedures.

After getting a Bachelor of Science degree in biology at the University of California, Riverside, and studying graduate physiology, Dr. Fisher joined the Navy to attend medical school at the Uniformed Service University of the Health Sciences, F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine in Bethesda, MD. Graduating in 1986, she completed an internship in family practice medicine at Naval Hospital, Camp Pendleton, CA. Following this, she completed the flight surgery program at Naval Air Station, Pensacola, FL. She served two tours as a naval flight surgeon, including being one of the first women to deploy on an aircraft carrier throughout the Pacific. She returned to the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD to complete a dermatology residency program. Afterwards, she served as Chief of Dermatology at the Naval Hospitals at Great Lakes, IL and Bremerton, WA, before completing her naval career.

Returning to California, Dr. Fisher has been in private practice in Petaluma for over eight years, and has truly enjoyed establishing long term patient relationships. She has recently joined Dermatology Associates of the Bay Area, just prior to the launching of their new, well-equipped, state of the art comprehensive medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology clinic.

With her commitment to medical education, Dr. Carla Fisher has given lectures to a wide variety of groups: school classrooms, community and work groups, hospital staff, physicians and dermatologists. She has held several teaching positions including Assistant Professor for the University of Chicago, School of Medicine, Dermatology Clerkship Advisor at Naval Hospital, Bremerton, WA, and Chief Resident at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, MD. She has participated in several free skin cancer screening clinics, regularly contributes reviews to dermatology conferences, as is a strong advocate of cancer prevention.
